Develop technology that verifies and secures integrity of texts through vectorization and semantic cosine comparisons.

II

Preserve Originals

Acquire, curate, and protect rare and endangered books, manuscripts, and remarkable artistic work.

III

Strengthen Institutions

Work with publishers, libraries, archives, and businesses to safeguard cultural content against alteration and loss.

IV

Inspire the Future

Award artists creating a 1000-year vision & institutions adopting technologies to preserve & protect humanity’s greatest works.

There’s more than one way to burn a book. In the digital age, new threats to literature and the arts have emerged.

  • The promise of AI Large Language Models such as ChatGPT and Google's Gemini is contraposed by a hidden danger. These technologies make it possible to create new texts and rewrite existing ones in real time, subject to the will of the few who own them.

  • Digitization of literature makes it vulnerable to politically-driven "rewrite" attacks. The incentives to create new propaganda by altering an existing text have never been higher, and the cost to do so is now almost zero.

  • Just as we lost our ability to navigate by map with the advent of GPS navigation such as Google Maps, we are losing access to verifiable knowledge as AI creates a broader and broader intermediation layer between us and primary sources.

To overcome the threats of the digital age, we cannot merely preserve originals. We must be able to verify them.
